my next tattoo is going to be a small fleur-de-lis on my left shoulder blade. black. i'm getting it because as a child i was in love with the three musketeers and in particular the character of milady, who was branded on her left shoulder with the fleur-de-lis.

if anyone wants to/has the time to draw up a simple design i'd appreciate it. i don't want to grab an image off the internet and walk into the tattoo shop with it; i want something unique. i designed my last one (with the help of the artist) and i liked that a lot (it's an om) but this time i'm coming up blank.

very nice, i am saddened that i have a piece of flash on my left arm, its cool, tribal barbwire, i like the style but im so going to get it altered one day. i will see what i can come up with and sunday when i play poker with my friend sam, i will ask for her help. she is actually an artist.

We are so very lucky with our tattoo artist. He'll happily look at the pics you being in from the internet...they are great for giving him the general idea of what you want....but every sinle piece he does is an original. He redraws on the spot. He's an amazingly talented artist.....We had to talk him into recreating exactly the vargas painting of Betty Page that is going to be hubbys next tattoo (Just as soon as I make up my mind on which Picture I want to use)

My advice...go into the tattoo place and ask them to create it. If they can't you dont want them Tattooing on you anyway.

Bree,

Found this page. It might come in handy for you.

Plus Julie's advice is spot on. If the guy/gal can't come up with a design theirself, you probably won't get a good tattoo from them.

thanks for the suggestions (and the website; it was a great place to start).

i am going to go to the parlour and see what my artist can come up with. he did a good job helping me on the last one, so it's a good idea to trust him on this one.

Don't do it!

I know that's not the input you wanted. I can't help myself though. When tattoos go out of style and your tastes change you are going to be stuck with those tattoos.

From an ol' gal that doesn't understand the reason behind destroying beautiful looking skin. Ok I'll butt out now, cuz I know I can't change your mind.
