Now that the World Cup and Wimbledon have finished, what shall I do with my time, to wean myself away from the television?
Any suggestions gladly received. I have Sports-Fan's DTs, so I need help and fast.

Well first of all, you could get an Italian to help fill up both of your gaps(both in time and that other thing). :giggle:
Or do what I did, get a XBox 360 and Oblivion. I'm addicted to that damn thing now.
If you're truely determined to be weaned from the television, then books and outdoorsy stuff sound good to me.

or you could get a copy of oblivion for your comp, which is just as good.
how far into oblivion are you cap?

Fags have good ideas, eh?
Now bring me Totti's number. And Toni's. And Grosso's. And...fuck it. They all deserve a celebratory bang. Buffon's good with his hands, I hear. :cheer:
(I'm already a bookworm so reading's my failsafe time-filler but I'd like some fresh ideas). :) Same goes for wankurbation, really...

I'm gathering up a long list of all those little quests, I haven't even gotten around to giving the Amulet of Kings to the guy in Chorral. I'm currently at level 3 and I'm shooting for at least level 5 before I set off on the main quest. The world is so amazingly complex and detailed I keep getting sidewayed by exploring. Which was the intention of the game's creators I'm sure. Yesterday I just finished a quest where I made a trip into a world inside a painted picture. That was so cool.

Hell yeah they deserve a celebratory bang which they'll probably be getting in the next few days.
You're already a bookworm, same here I need some fresh ideas as well, as much as I love reading, I do get tired of books sometimes. Right now I'd like to do outdoorsy stuff and take up dancing. Watching all those dance reality shows on the tv's given me the dancing bug.

I fancy taking up falconry. I asked my dad if I could borrow his budgies but he said no. I also like the idea of brushing up on my archery. My dad taught me to shoot when I was 7. No budgies, but here's a longbow. Go figure.

Falconry and archery sound really cool! I'd like to learn archery too and get a beautiful artisan bow, none of those ugly modern types.
How about kayaking? I'm not sure if UK's got good kayaking spots, there are two types, ocean and white water kayaking. The ocean kayaking's a bit of a misnomer since it can apply to lakes, gentle rivers, and any other calm water spots. White-water kayaking's pretty much self-explanatory. I enjoyed it a lot, then college life got in the way. I still want to take it up again, very good exercise, and a great adrenaline rush. Not to mention it's a water sport and I looooove water. :yup:

I'd have to learn to swim first...hey! There's an idea! :D
Bit paranoid about the scars on my legs (swimsuit + my legs =:vomit: ), post-UVB treatment (eczema and folliculitis) but...it's on my to-do list. :yup:

Learning how to swim. Now that's a good idea ;)
Plus, you get to meet people from all sorts of backgrounds. And go on kayaking trips throughout Europe!

Indeed. And before I sign off and go home...may I say,
Totti. Toni. Grosso.
There's just no choosing, is there? And you, Italian-obsessed homosexualist, can keep your hands off. Well, we can split Totti and Toni, and I'll toss you for Grosso.
(I said that to an ex-boyfriend once - there was one chocolate biscuit left, and I said, "I'll toss you for it," and he replied, "Sounds like a fair exchange!") :chuckle:
Ta ta for now, all. Thanks for the suggestions and I look forward to reading more when I get back online. :D
The Tour de France. Beautiful French towns, mountain scenery starting now, and ... men in lycra.

I can't think of anything recreational for you, scarlet but I just have to mention that "wankurbation" is a brilliant word.
So, in fact, that was a complete lie above, I can think of something recreational for you, create a "scarletpeaches dictionary" and share it with us on :ff:
I suppose David would never wear it. But we're focusing on scarlet p's gap here.

Just a few ideas:
Take up doing pottery. You don't need a wheel, you can do it by hand. You'll need to find someone who has a kiln to fire your stuff though.
Become a pyro. Fire is good.
Self-flagellation. Or if you can find someone else to hit, or hit you, more power to you.
SCUBA diving, it's just a good idea.
Burn ants with a magnifying glass, drown kittens, pull the wings off butterflies - that kind of thing.
Any suggestions gladly received.
Have a baby.

Find something closeby you never knew was there. Look up your own area on the net and look for 'things to do'.
That'll take care of one day.

How big is this 'gap' anyway?
Is it temporary? It sounds like a space betwixt one distraction and another. Are you looking forward to cricket season, or what?
On day two of quiet bear's program, pick one of the things you look up and go do it.
Wet teeshirt contests can be fun.
