i took these while visiting the in-laws. the building is the local post-office. i liked the colours and squares. mostly they are pretty flowers from my mother-in-laws garden. i will be posting an amazing flower in its own thread. hope you like...

Love the first geometric one; that's my fave. My second three faves would have to be the first flower (the bright red brains flower), the first of the spikey red flowers, and the last flower (with the soft hues). The poinsetta (?) almost made it in there as my second fave abstract, but I think it needs a tighter crop to really give it mammoth awesomeness.

Good stuff!

Very nice as always, michael.

I wish I had a better camera, but my interest would be mostly in photographing people. Got a million pictures of everybody around here, always trying to work their best angles, and trying to capture their personality. Everybody who knows me online even, I am always asking for pictures. :D

Heard about any cameras that are not too expensive, but would be good for photographing people?

My parents have an older Cannon I think, has all the different lenses and what not, but you have to focus it, which I hate, and it's not digital which sucks. How do those professional old cameras compare with the newer day digitals, do you know? Like, has digital surpassed the old, or can the old ones be just as good if you know how to work it?

Nice pics, Michael. I too love the first one, it's such an interesting shot.

If you were to invest in a Canon dSLR, you would find that most of those old film lenses will fit the new digital camera perfectly, and work beautifully.

TJL, I have enjoyed all your recent photos (that first B&W one in another thread was an awesome study!) Thanks!

I can't believe how well the you can capture the up close images, details and colors of these flowers.

been too hot to go outside to take pics and maybe take up pepper's challenge, so i just keep working on the floating flowers. this one is named after its colours...

(i am going to work on the passion flower, but that is gonna take some time...maybe by tonight!)

I always liked the colour clash on these two or three. The ground is very drab, the sky is pure blue, and the locomotives provide the colour.

Same train as above. I'm not sure which I like better: This one seems more imposing, but the first one just has more of an impression of the character of knuckling down and hauling 3,000 tons up a hill which makes mountain railroading.
