This article lists the top 10 best cities for single people (http://realestate.msn.com/Rentals/Articleforbes.aspx?cp-documentid=694846) based on nightlife, culture, job growth, cost of living alone, coolness, and online dating activity all weighted equally, and the number of single people give double weight.
They are, in order, the top 10 cities of 40 ranked: Denver-Boulder, Boston, Phoenix, San Francisco-Oakland, New York, Raleigh-Durham, Seattle, Austin, Texas, Washington D.C.-Baltimore, and Miami. What, no Tulsa, Milwaukee or Portland?
With the winners come the losers, Greensboro, N.C., ranked dead last for the second consecutive year. Norfolk, Va., didn't fare much better -- it's ranked 39th out of 40 for the second year.
The perfect date would be to go to another city, because there's nothing to do.
No comment from me, as I am not single. I can certainly see the attraction of the Denver-Boulder area, Seattle, and maybe Austin, but the rest hold no appeal for me. What about you singles, if you don't live in one of these places, how is your city for singles?
