The Knife (http://gadgets.engadget.com/2006/08/24/giant-swiss-army-knife-offers-85-tools/)
Wenger, the manufacturer of the classic Swiss Army Knife, has revealed a 9-inch long, 2-pound "knife" which carries 85 instruments, or: almost every tool that has ever been on a Swiss Army Knife, ever.

i always kept the basic swiss army knife in my uniform pocket. we weren't supposed to, but we all did. i used mine to cut down a guy hanging himself once at the jail. that thing pictured is ridiculous, the guy would have died before i found the right tool!!

I don't know if I could exist without my "McGuyver knife", a Swiss Army Tinkerer. It's been a faithful companion for several decades now and has served me well when I needed it. Just the other day, I used it as a steak knife at lunch time and later the Phillips screwdriver to tighten a loose screw on my office chair.
That thing in the OP isn't practical at all.

I couldn't find any more info on it but I suspect it's a gimmick, not a production knife.

It sure looks that way. I don't know how you're supposed to use that monstrosity. I would still buy it, though. :yup:

I guess the Swiss haven't learned it's not the size so much that counts, it's how you use it.

Ok, I've looked all over the site (http://www.wenger-knife.ch) and can't find the product listed. If one was so inclined - and was willing to fork over the monay, which would probably be around a grand considering how much normal ones cost - where does one order? Sure, I too want one as a novelty, but not for $1,000+ US I don't.

Where's the USB flash drive on that thing?Wenger doesn't make a USB flash drive knife, but Victorinox does. (http://www.swissarmy.com/MultiTools/Product.htm?category=originalswissarmyknives&product=53994&)
Which one is the real Swiss Army knife company? Victorinox claims to be "the original Swiss Army knife" and Wenger claims to be "maker of the genuine Swiss Army knife". My "McGuyver knife" is a Victorinox, which is the only brand of Swiss Army knives I've ever owned.

I don't know which one is the "real" one but I always buy the victornox ones. They are a much better quality.

The giant knife of the OP is real, but not orderable on the site. They cost a grand and must be special-ordered. Follow the image link to outdoor-life, view their image gallery on it, and you'll get more detailed info.
