I imported an Ibanez J-custom RG8670 from Japan, and it just came today...
Here are some pics of my new badass axe:

Ooooh, that is pretty. What a gorgeous blue, and the inlay along the neck. I'll have to show it mr. freemonkey.
How's it sound?

How's it sound? Oh, it sounds pretty good. Pretty close to an RG3120, really, or other mahogany bodied Ibanez RG with a Dimarzio ToneZone in the bridge position. I'm not sure the ToneZone is my favorite pickup, it's very bassy and midrangey, but I'm not sure what I'd put there instead, and also I've noticed my tastes in pickups change depending on what it is that I'm playing most, so I could grow to like it. There's definitely a greater variety of sounds in this thing than can be had from your run of the mill Ibanez RG570, say. Getting the right pickups is always a complete crapshoot. (probably more incomprehensible info than you wanted....)

I would file down the nut, raise the bridge and take the buzz out' the low E. But that's just me, man, ya know. :giggle:

You joke, but just this week my acoustic starting buzzing on the low notes. At first I thought it was fretbuzz, but on a closer listen I think there's something loose in the preamp electronics.
GW, that is a beautiful guitar. I hereby officially envy you, and bestow upon you the title and office of Lucky Skunk.
