Didn't realize it'd been that long since I'd signed on. Lots of shit going down. Kids back at school and loving it. Teaching heavy this semester. And next. Too many grants and manuscripts to try and get out the door. Planning two evolution symposia for this coming spring. Separated, again. Retreating more and more into my hermitlike ways...but on the bright side, where I'm staying there are some crazy fluffy black weird-ass lookin chickens that liv would probably like. But on the not-bright side, the other normal chickens always get out of their fencing and cock-a-doodle-doo all the goddamned time.

So, yeah, that's my update. What've I missed?

Long time, no see, Roland98. What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Welcome back professor! Sounds like you've got a full work load there. Nothing like some hard honest mental labor I daresay. Though you've been busy, I've been regularly reading your blog which is impeccable as always. :)

Fluffy black chickens!! You're sooo lucky. Are they silkies? Polish? Cochins? :hyper:

Oh, erm, nice to see you again, Ro. I'm glad you're keeping busy, although honestly it looks like you could use a little less busy and a little more :hammock:.

Roland! I thought you'd fallen clean off the face of the earth. Sorry about the separation, but sounds like the kids are good and work is going well. You haven't missed too much here. We created a new game forum (the Colosseum) and I've become a Hare Krishna, but that's about it. It's good to see ya. :)

Heya Rollie! Welcome back.

What's up with these evolution symposia you're organizing? Are they for strictly perfessional bio-whosits, or are the rest of us welcome too?

aww, teh love...hi y'all.

pesci, the last two years have all been kinda blurry for me, so I totally understand. :)

What would you do for a Klondike bar?

Chocolate and ice cream? Hell, damn near anything. I'm a total Klondike slut.

Though you've been busy, I've been regularly reading your blog which is impeccable as always.

ha. That totally shows you *haven't* been reading it. :D

Fluffy black chickens!! You're sooo lucky. Are they silkies? Polish? Cochins?

hellifiknow. I googled all of those and they look the most like the silkies, but they're not as fluffy as the pictures I found online. Might be cause they're young, though. They're docile as hell--kids pick em up and they don't even squawk.

vm--Hare Krishna? :) Are you still in Tejas?

Smilin--hells yeah, I'll take a cookie. Double chocolate, thanks. How's things been on your end?

What's up with these evolution symposia you're organizing? Are they for strictly perfessional bio-whosits, or are the rest of us welcome too?

Equal opportunity. The first is in conjunction with some theology folks at a local Lutheran college, and other members of the Iowa Academy of Science, aimed mostly at secondary school teachers to try to make evolution a bit less scary (and specifically, address some concerns about reconciling faith + evolution). The second is a Darwin Day celebration for the general public. We're still working on hammering that one out, but we might have a speaker set and are trying to work in the other events.

Hi Stormlight. :) That's, erm, one shirtless picture there...

And hi godfry. What's up out there in your corner of the world?

Yeah. Still in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex and still working for the bank, but moving to Austin "soon". I took my location out of my profile 'cause chicks dig mysterious guys, and I'm all about the ladies.

I think liv secretly wants you to post pictures of your chickens.

And I think every one wants you to post more often.

Not that those are really big secrets.

But you are the admin, and we all know how much the chicks are attracted to power, so you are covered.
