I don't have time. I'm in the middle of job interviews, revising a manuscript and getting another one written. I can post my ideas for the game but that's about all I can add to the game at this point and time. Sorry.

Here are my notes, if someone else wants to GM the game (or for future use):

1. Cop - Can establish contact with the vigilante (either the GM tells the cop who the vig is, or the cop has to find the vig in the course of the game). If contact has been established and the mafia kill the cop and the cop HAS initiated contact with the vigilante, the vigilante will know the mobster that performed the hit (this requires the mafia in addition to telling the GM who they wish to kill, to also tell them who is doing the kill).

2. Mafia - May or may not be able to recruit one member (the GM will decide this at the beginning of the game and only the mafia will know if they are able to recruit or not). If the vigilante is recruited, and was contacted by the cop, the mafia will know who the cop is. If the mafia cannot recruit, they are allowed to pass up a killing one night to emulate a recruitment.

3. Doc - 1 protection each night. (Knows the identity of the nurse?)

4. Nurse - Allowed 2 protections if the doc is killed. (Knows the identity of the doctor?)

5. Vigilante - Is allowed 2 kills.

6. Prostitute - Blocks the role of one individual each night (including cop, doc, vigilante and mafia member slated to make a kill). Cannot "sleep" with the same individual on successive nights.

Dunno which way this would swing the balance of a particular game, but it might prove to be some interesting elements someone else may want to include in the next Mafia game.

TomJoe, if you are super busy I thought I might like to try my hand as a GM on a game

I was thinking of a smalltown USA game with a Satanic Cult operating within it. Townspeople are sacrificed by the cult leader, high priest or priestess and their members - they may also convert someone to satanism.

I would try to have some unique roles - maybe someone who had sodium pentathol and who can at any point ask one question of one person that must be answered truthfully - but that will cause their death.

I say we postpone this game. Since the game is TomJoe's idea, I think he should be the one to moderate it. I don't mind waiting until he has the time to run it.
