We are about to become the guardians of bey's 17-year-old cousin.

Here's the story:

Dane's dad died about 2 years ago, and bey went to Georgia to go to the memorial. I told him he had to talk to his cousin about it, tell him how his dad died when he was 15, too, tell him we would be there for him.

Then last year we had him out to visit and bey took him to Dave & Busters, and I took him to San Francisco, and we took him to Google. Probably other stuff, too, I don't remember. We planned on bringing out his 2 younger sisters in a future summer when they're older.

So more recently, his mom is having troubles and the 3 kids are staying with a family friend. bey had spent a year in foster care when his mom was having troubles, so once again he is gonna step up and be here for his cousin. Dane wants to come out here, and we think it will make things easier for the girls to stay where they are (and not go into the system) if Dane leaves.

It fucking sucks that he's gonna be so far away from his sisters, but on the other hand he gets to be in California and stay with his cousins who love him. Oh Jesus, wait till he gets a load of our local family. :lol:

So this is all very new, and there's all kinds of shit to figure out legally and logistically, but for now I'm just like
