Shroud of the Avatar
 

I had the opportunity to meet Richard "Lord British" Garriot de Cayeux a few weeks ago during an early preview of his new game, Shroud of the Avatar. You might remember him from the Ultima franchise, or from Man on a Mission: Richard Garriott's Road to the Stars, the documentary about his trip into space.

After meeting Richard and several others from the Portalarium team, plus seeing the demo, I decided to pony up $45 for early beta access. (Each quarter they open the game up to contributors for a couple days.) Of course it's still in very rough form, but it looks pretty good. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the finished product.
