As a native San Diegan, I must just point out that the original Anchorman was filmed almost entirely in Long Beach. We had practically nothing to do with it, save for one day spent filming at The Prado, a Balboa Park restaurant. It's almost invariably the case that if you set a film in a specific locale they will choose to film it hundreds to perhaps thousands of miles away.

Besides, we have far more awesome movies to our credit like The Hunt for Red October (even if Sean Connery was the least convincing Soviet since :boris: and :natasha: ).

I hated the original Anchorman, and nearly walked out of it. If I hadn't been seeing it with someone else, I probably would have.

If there were any justice at all in the Universe, Will Ferrell would be forever banned from "comedy" roles. He was okay in Elf, but other than that, I've never seen him playing a "comedy" role in which he was the least bit amusing.

Oddly enough though, he was pretty good in Stranger Than Fiction.

He's not one of my favorite comedians either. He was OK on SNL, especially in the Jeopardy spoofs. Even that though was mostly due to the "celebrity" contestants.
