Ghost in the Shell Mafia
 

Nuclear War has left the political landscape heavily balkanized. Japan has risen in prominence after inventing the Japanese Miracle – nanomachines, capable of scrubbing radiation and removing nuclear fallout from the environment. The advent and application of cybernetic brains and synthetic prostheses has changed every facet of society. The challenges for national security are vast. For this reason, Japan has created Section 9- the pinnacle of their Japanese Self-Defense Forces- a covert group of elite investigators who specialize in technology-related crime.


Recently, the Prime Minister’s secretary had her cybernetic brain hacked in an assassination attempt. It is believed that the individual responsible is a hacker known only as the Puppet Master. The identity of the Puppet Master is mysterious. Age, sex, nationality and background are all unknown variables. This person is on the International Most Wanted list for crimes including: stock manipulation, illegal information gathering, political engineering, and several acts of terrorism.


Section 9 has been instructed to assist Section 6 – the Foreign Intelligence unit- in apprehending the Puppet Master. However, the Foreign Minister over Section 6 has been at odds with Section 9 over a recent defection case in which the Major neutralized the Ambassador of The Gavel Republic. Section 9 suspects corruption within Section 6 and must figure out who these corrupt members are before they are destroyed.


There are 14 players in this game. Game play and communication can only occur in this thread unless otherwise directed by the GM.

Days will be untimed- no deadlines. Once a player gets the number of votes needed indicated at Daybreak, the hammer is dropped. When the hammer falls- it falls with finality.

All votes must be BOLD in order to be counted.

All night actions will be directed through the GM- Demicon. Do not send actions to any other account or they will not count.
