Re: BBC Literacy Questionnaire
I have read 23 of those books. Most of them don't even interest me, I don't care if they're great literature.
1. What author do you own the most books by?
I have the entire collections of Edgar Allan Poe and Lewis Carroll, and we have several entire series including fantasy and detective novels. So I don't know.
2. What book do you own the most copies of?
The Bible.
3. Did it bother you that both those questions ended with prepositions?.
No.
4. What fictional character are you secretly in love with?
Not telling
5. What book have you read the most times in your life (excluding picture books read to children; i.e., Goodnight Moon does not count)?
Through the Looking Glass, it was a favorite as a child and I still read it periodically as an adult. I do tend to reread books and even series kinda frequently.
6. What was your favorite book when you were ten years old?
10...so around 5th grade? Tuck Everlasting, no question
7. What is the worst book you've read in the past year?
Game of Thirty
8.What is the best book you've read in the past year?
What I am reading now, Sherlock Holmes. I am enjoying it immensely
9.If you could force everyone you tagged to read one book, what would it be?
Something Wicked This Way Comes
10. What book would you most like to see made into a movie?
The Talisman
11.What book would you least like to see made into a movie?
Don't care enough to have an answer come to mind
12. Describe your weirdest dream involving a writer, book, or literary character.
None come to mind
13.What is the most lowbrow book you've read as an adult?
LOL, I read all kinds of things, including plenty of fluff. If it's entertaining I don't care if it's lowbrow
14.What is the most difficult book you've ever read?
Although I love the difficulty, I do have a hard time with Poe's language
15. What is the most obscure Shakespeare play you've seen?
I've never seen an obscure one
16. Do you prefer the French or the Russians?
No idea
21.What is the biggest or most embarrassing gap in your reading?
I don't really care, though I was kinda embarrassed not to have read Sherlock Holmes, and so am doing it now
