It began with the forging of the Great Rings. Three were given to the Elves, immortal, wisest...fairest of all beings. Seven to the Dwarf Lords, great miners and craftsmen of the mountain halls. And Nine...nine rings were gifted to the race of Men who, above all else, desire power. For within these rings was bound the strength and will to govern each race. But they were all of them deceived...for another ring was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Sauron forged in secret a Master Ring to control all others...and into this Ring he poured his cruelty, his malice and his will to dominate all life. One Ring to rule them all...
An Age later, the One Ring has resurfaced, and it's lack is all that stands between the Dark Lord and complete domination of Middle Earth. It has fallen into the possession of a band of simple Hobbits who, in the company of their allies and protectors, have set out to carry it to Mount Doom, and destroy it in the very fires where it was forged. But the Nazgul, Ring Wraiths corrupted by Sauron, have been dispatched to destroy your Fellowship and retrieve the Ring for their master. As the Nazgul fall upon you, Gandalf the Grey quickly casts a spell of illusion that makes all nearby, Nazgul included, appear as identical Hobbits:
You know the drill...Nazgul are scum, and kill one of you each night. Hobbits are town, and lynch one player each day. Nazgul can communicate via PM during night phases only, the rest of you can only communicate about the game in this thread.

You are a simple hobbit, this game's version of a vanilla townie. You have no special powers, beyond the ability to carry the One Ring without immediately succumbing to its temptations. You win when all threats are eliminated and a hobbit possesses the Ring.

Days are theoretically timed, but I'm giving you such long timers that they may as well not be. Day 1 will be two full weeks, ending at whatever time I leave work on Monday the 24th. If at any time before that one player has a majority vote of the remaining players, night will fall early. You will need to elect a leader for your Fellowship, by majority vote in bold blue text (i.e.
vote: Adam ) who will have two roles. If there is a tie at the end of a timed day, the Fellowship's leader will break that tie. Perhaps more importantly, the leader will search the body of each lynched player, and come into possession of any items the deceased may have been carrying, particularly interesting pieces of fingerwear.
