"Keystone carries Canada's oil through an unnecessary pipeline likely made of foreign steel, all while polluting our heartland, treading on the rights of Indigenous people and private landowners," said Greenpeace USA climate campaign specialist Diana Best in reaction to today's development.

The pipe is from a Canadian manufacturer that is about 30% owned by Russian extractogarch Abramov who was a guest at Ivanka's wedding.
I'm not as upset about the pipeline now as I might've been earlier. I'm glad Obama delayed it for ten years. In that space, the tar sands have gotten much less attractive as an economically viable resource. One large oil co recently wrote down the value of their reserves by some billions of dollar, and another developer had to sell their operations at a big loss. Renewables have also gotten a much better toehold as a practical energy alternative in the interval.
