[specious_reasons]

This is one of those subjects that I keep on trying, especially now that there's a white birch right next to my house. A recent rainstorm blew off large sheets of thin layers. Once dried, the sheets separated into even thinner layers. Not thin enough, though, as these aren't single cell layers, which is what I was hoping for.
