Whoa...overnight rain.

I must remember this explicitly for next late March, after it has been raining incessantly for weeks on end. Remind myself how thankful I can be for even a modest rainfall enough to wet the pavement.

It is not yet enough to suppress the fire still raging east of town, but it has suppressed the smoke and is helping the fire crews obtain more mastery. More rain is forecast; so much so that some are worried about slope stability issues in the now denuded areas of of the Gorge.

But right now, it smells so good. The smoke is gone. The temperatures are still 'shirt sleeve', but not stultifying. The pavement is damp and there is a light breeze. This is blissful.
