Nope. They don't help with people with my condition. I am basically deaf at certain frequencies, more than 100 dB for me to hear sounds between 20 and 40 Hz. The hearing aids I got this past Spring cost $10,400, about the top of the line there is. And all they did was make the sounds I can actually hear sound very harsh and when boosted enough to help, hurt my ears. But even worse, my speech recognition was no higher with them than without. And even if I qualified for cochlear implants, which I don't, there is no guarantee that would help either.
