Re: New And Improved Rant Thread, now with 50% more profanity!
Goddamit G11-1050 shouldn't be so hard to find. It's the ONLY vertical uplink on the G11 satellite and should stick out like a sore thumb, but it's still swamped by all the other channels. It's not enough to point at the right SATELLITE, oh no. We have to point at the right PLACE on the right satellite(using only our opposable thumbs; the big G's dishes don't have fine-tuning adjustments anymore. Funny, the old dishes used cheap mounts made from bent sheet metal that were strong and worked great. These new ones are expensive, heavy monstrosities cast from aluminum, with a tendency to crack -- that being why we have to find this satellite again -- and NO FINE ADJUSTMENTS whatsoever.) or it'll just give us "locked to the wrong network" with no indication it's even anywhere NEAR the right one. Which makes the process entirely guesswork and luck.
And I can add one more ex-employee to the asshole list. I'd given him the benefit of the doubt for years despite how he treated me like shit since everyone liked him, but now he's gone and set up a wireless system in direct competition with ours. Wait no, I lied, he didn't do it, he just got a major competitor to do it so they could contract him to do house installs in areas no sane person would dream of going alone. Why does he want to install again? We were doing that, and he left that to sell cars! (A job quite suited to a man of his character). We might've given him a cut of the service charges after, but he'll never get anything but one-time costs from that company.
So this is just another get-rich-quick scheme of his. But a get-rich scheme that plants a fucking 500-foot tower smack in four of our existing service areas. Great plan, dumbass -- selling highspeed internet to people that already have it, in impoverished postage-stamp areas that can't possibly bear two providers! Not to mention your new company's shitty business practices of assraping people with service overcharges should they accidentally go a little bit over their bandwidth limits. Oh, sorry, I should phrase it in terms you'll appreciate. You can't gouge people once you've ruined them, there's no more left to take.
