I didn't pick up any bragging, I just thought it sounded cool.
Scott was on the short list of people I wanted to write to about the electric-manga site, but my guess is that I sent him that email within about a day of when his dog died, so I'm not expecting a response any time soon.
I wrote him because I want the site to NOT fuck over the webcomic artists, and Scott Kurtz is the guy to go to if you want informed opinions about webcomic business models. I still laugh at all the people complaining that he wants amateur webcomics to fail -- prediction is not desire.
