And I mean, not using English because Britain went out would be more about symbolic politics, not as much about practical realities.
The reality is that a lot of people in the EU will already know English due to trade with the UK and other Anglophone countries, lots of other international organizations use English, etc. etc.
The EU using it as a working language is not really the main driver of its use in Europe, I would imagine.
But who knows, maybe they'll change it. Symbolic politics do have power.
