I left my previous employer (of 22 years) on November 1st of last year. The last three years or so there had taken their toll on me and I was a big ball of stress when I threw in the towel. I don't mind telling you, I have been happier than a pig in mud all this time. Especially since I could give the middle finger to Nashville traffic.

And now I have found a new job. It's a contract position that's slated to last 17 months but I'm okay with the short term employment. I've enjoyed having no demands on my time for so long and already look forward to that happening again. As I slave towards that day my bank accounts will be receiving much needed shots in the arm. It helped that I have no car payments, sold an extra car, and have been saving for that "see ya" move ever since ex-Hubster left 10 years ago. Still, it'll be nice to see money coming in again, instead of in addition to going out.

I haven't been completely idle all this time, though. (Okay, just mostly idle. Yay, books! Yay, Angry Birds! Yay, 2016 Presidential Election.) I've been going to the gym, working with personal trainers, and eating a teensy bit better. I have lost 20 pounds in the past year and, while I should have lost more than that but LAZY, I'm proud of it.
