First: really? Yes, at least if you count the number of news outlets reporting. It's even made it onto

Second: who donates their penis? OK, dead people, and in the first transplant a brain-dead person. But what's it like to have someone else's dick? I suppose the issues of psychological rejection aren't that different from having a hand or leg transplant.
Third: how do you get into a situation where you need a penis transplant? This and at least one other in SA seem to be "botched traditional circumcision". Which raises its own questions.
Fourth: wait - the recipient is black and the donor was white? That raises a whole new bunch of questions, and it's why I picked this thread. Most of the UK news sites (Daily Fail, Sun, etc) have this point right in the headline. Classy.
