The Senate is
gonna have a cloture vote on DADT as part of the annual defense appropriation bill. Blah blah blah maybe they will maybe they won't, that article isn't even interesting except for the bit at the very end:
Quote:
Bishop Harry R. Jackson Jr. of Hope Christian Church in Beltsville, who leads a coalition of African American religious leaders who oppose repealing "don't ask," warned that ending the ban would impose "the most radical form of social experiments" on troops.

First, I am trying to think of another hugely radical social experiment that occurred when the military suddenly stopped excluding an entire population of soldiers that it once excluded. Is there any precedent for this kind of radical form of social experiment in the military? Hint: yes, there is!
Quote:
A repeal could also force military chaplains to resign or keep silent about their opposition, he said.

Forcing military personnel to resign or keep silent about a fundamental part of their identity? Unconscionable. Also yeah, it's probably not a super great idea to let the opposition of chaplains dictate military policy too much.
