Though this analogy fails on a number of levels, your question is almost like asking how to play Russian roulette without catching a bullet in your brain. There is no fool-proof answer. You can do things to minimize your risks, but they'll always be there. At least with our current understanding and technology.

Doesn't matter. Some viruses are able to persist outside the body/cells for a period of time. Using Lysol or Purell (ethyl alcohol) will have an immediate impact on your skin, especially skin which isn't used to such harsh chemicals. The breaks don't need to be huge gashes. Microscopic breaks will be enough to allow entrance.
