I won't be surprised if Newt drops out once he realizes that the only thing that can happen there is getting some santorum in his face.
Gingrich strikes me as probably being a bit more strategic than Herman Cain (who really should never have accepted a one-on-one debate with Gingrich). If Gingrich does well, he gains next to nothing. If he does poorly, he could lose a lot.
Santorum, however, should totally be stoked if Gingrich stays in.
