On the minus side, the
Doomsday Clock now sits at two minutes to midnight. This ties it with 1953, when the U.S. and U.S.S.R. were both testing hydrogen bombs, for the closest it has ever been. (The Cuban Missile Crisis, undoubtedly still the closest human civilisation has actually come to annihilation, was resolved before it could affect the clock's position.)
On the plus side, I at least have an excuse to post a killer Iron Maiden track.
(Not that much of an upside, to be honest, but you take what you can get these days.)
