Undaunted, and utterly unwilling to admit that Trump trolled the shit out of their dumb asses, anti-vaxxers rejoiced when Fitzgerald resigned as CDC Director amidst allegations of ethical/financial impropriety. That, anti-vaxxers believed, would give Trump a chance to make up for what were surely just a lot of good-faith mistakes in past health-related government appointments.

The new Trump-appointed CDC Director is Dr. Robert Redfield. Surely this new guy is an anti-vaxxer, right? Well, maybe not. In fact, this dude loves vaccines so much that he was accused of manipulating data and overstating positive results in connection with clinical trials for an experimental HIV vaccine in the 1990s. The U.S. Army, Redfield's employer at the time, conducted an investigation and cleared him of any wrongdoing, but anti-vax celebrities like fraudulent quack and peacegirl deity Sherri Tenpenny are apoplectic over the choice.

But stay the course, anti-vaxxers. Trump is one of you. He totally did not troll you, and the course of actual events by no means demonstrates that you are stupid and gullible. Having a POTUS who announces publicly that there are some "very fine people" among white supremacists and neo-Nazis is a small price to pay for having such a dedicated anti-vaxxer in the White House.

Complete deflection! Good going Maturin!
