I've been having fun giving to various organizations over the last few months.
I have officially budgeted $50 from every paycheck to donate. I started with $50 a month budgeted but that went too fast so I have a little more than doubled it so that I can do more with it.
I have given to some charities suggested in this thread and found a few others. It is great because I can get the same hunt and kill satisfaction of shopping while doing something helpful for others and not cluttering my space with useless crap.
Here are the places I have given so far:
FF
Oregon Food Bank
Kiva
Heifer International
This American Life
Doctors Without Borders
ACLU
Charity: water
Playpumps International
That last was a really cool find that a co-worker suggested where they set up water pumps that run on merry-go-rounds. Great idea!
If anyone has any other charity ideas, please let me know.
