It is a little confusing, I have to admit! Bristol Palin's has borne one child with one biological father, and is pregnant with another by a different biological father, yet she hasn't married either of those fathers. (I think she was engaged to both of them, but being a Palin, quit.) I wonder if she adheres to an adult-centric view of marriage where the focus is on the emotional state of adults, rather than a child-focused view of marriage where the emphasis is on bonding biological children to their parents. Maybe she just has a problem with the traditional definition of marriage that has been around for all those thousands of years.
