Re: What's up with you?
I am retiring at the end of January 2018. There are reasons I am waiting until then, tax reasons. Also, in January I get another fat phat annual payment from my employer into my retirement account and $1200 in my HSA account, I get paid for accrued PTO (paid time off), and I qualify for the full annual performance bonus to be paid in March. We may move to Colorado next Spring if I can pull it off. My retirement income after taxes and insurance should provide a fairly decent standard of living and we'll be buying a house for cash, instant 100% equity that could be borrowed against in a pinch.
ETA: I am forced to retire because of my hearing problem. My pension pays better than disability, or I would go on that instead.
