I agree on the term being wrong. But worse than that, it supports the "It was just a joke" and "You don't have any sense of humor" defense. It's clearly not a joke. It's clearly a silencing tactic but they've taken control of the narrative by getting media to use that word. It reminds me of an article posted in the gender thread some time ago that asked why the rapists get to define what's consent.
