Ranger, you are mixing and matching to get the answer you desire, which is the fraud the wiki article is doing.
For the shadow to move west to east, the moon has to be revolving around the earth faster than the earth is rotating on its axis. (moon relative to earth)
We are told it takes 27 days for the moon to revolve around the earth.
This has nothing to do with the speed of the moon in its obit of the earth. (moon relative to its own orbit)
