You should avoid replying, even to tell them to fuck off and you know it's a scam. It only confirms your address is an active one and ironically invites an increase in these kinds of e-mails.
If you want to tell them to eat shit, set up a fake e-mail address and transfer it to there, erasing references to your real address. Then send it back as if you received it at your fake account. They send so many out, they wont know the difference.
I don't get any scams in my hotmail on a regular basis, (maybe once every 6 months), whereas, my fake hotmail account gets about 3 a day. That's the difference between good and bad security practices.
I actually get my friends to forward theirs for me to deal with when I am in that kind of mood.
