When I first moved back to Oklahoma in 2000, Democrats were in the majority in the State House and my Representative to Congress was a Democrat, and the Governor was a Democrat. 9/11 changed all that. Maybe that has faded enough to get back to the roots. |
I don't think it was 9/11 that changed it, although it might've provided the boost necessary to unseat many incumbents. Those incumbents would've eventually lost or retired or died though.
It's a mystery that goes back to 1964-65. Nobody knows what happened then though. I guess they just decided to move away from the party of slavery and the KKK.
