Yo ho snow and a bottle of rum!
So we had a huge snow storm yesterday that is historic. The old recorded max snowfall was 7.8 inches in 1919. Last night we got 12! That's right a whole foot of snow.
We went over to our friend Olivia's house and got silly with some 151. Then we had the idea to play in the snow. But we are too cool to just build a silly snowman. Instead, Mr. Monde came up with the following concept drawing:
That's right, sea serpent!
Working in the chilly night we finished at about midnight. We went back this morning to take some pics.
The realilty:
Man, it was a good time!

Actually, it did cause a bit of a traffic jam. Also, people walking down the street were amazed and some made an extra trip back so they could get pictures with it.
The best moment though was when we were walking around the neighborhood looking at the other snow men built that day. (I have some pretty crazy pics of Texans gone wild with the snow.) We passed one house that made a big six foot opera lady with HUGE tracts of land and a viking helmet. The hipsters on the porch had made it and we stopped to take a pic and give our compliments. Before we had a chance to say more than hello, a girl in a jester ski hat exclaimed, "there's a SEA SERPENT down the street, you have to go see it!" and wildly pointed down the street towards Cecil. I positively beamed in telling her it was ours.
Nothing like a snow storm to bring neighbors together.
