I never paid any attention to him, but yeah few people die suddenly from "natural causes" at 43...even fewer if they are also some kind of celebrity.
But, I still think 43 is scary young, since that is the age I will be next birthday.

Sadly when it comes to unknown conditions people just throw the dice too many times and eventually the wrong number comes up. A friend of a friend around that age died in a similar 'just collapsed' manner. Turned out to be a brain hemorrhage.

my cousin died at 42. She had a headache, and was dead an hour later. Her sister thinks it was because she had had multiple orthopedic surgery. if you don't stay on blood thinners your blood clots, apparently.

One of my friends died about that age, it turned out to be from carbon monoxide poisoning due to a faulty heater. There was lots of speculation about his drug fueled past, but in the end it was a crappy rental that did him in.

I've known people younger than that who died of natural causes (heart condition, cancer/leukemia). I was actually sad about them dying.

NPR, that "bastion of liberalism," has been going on about him all day; about how he was loved by many, and how he -- supposedly -- was instrumental in exposing corruption in various institutions.
That he was an unprincipled cad who often resorted to manipulation and outright lying was, of course, never mentioned at all. The worst they could come up with was that "some people" considered him to be a "controversial" figure.
None of this means that I don't feel genuinely sorry for his family, who surely loved him. In fact, I do. And I'm sure that he was very good to them. But in a larger sense, I know of no evidence that he made the world a better place for having been in it, and I can think of plenty of evidence which suggests the opposite is true.
