It couldn't recognize my phone because I drew the handset of an old-style landline, not a cell phone.

O YES HELLO NUTELLA BURGER. I am suspicious, however. What's with that dark brown dried up ring around the diameter? You can see there's soft inside Nutella where it's cut, but the outside is like they dyed the bread dark brown to match. Also, precisely what kind of bread is that? Is it a sweet bun? Because that is not necessary. The Nutella brings all the sweetness to the table. Lastly, the bread to Nutella ratio seems excessively high to me. I like my Nutella SLATHERED on thin slices of bread, not big puffy buns.

I knew it was just a (probably sweet) bi-colored bun (or maybe cake is a better word).

But maybe nutella on a regular bun with a beef patty might be okay? They put other sweet shit like ketchup in their burgers, so why not?

Default Re: Miscellany

I'm toying with the idea of getting a Christmas tree. (I could always call it a Solstice tree, after all -- the practice of using lighted trees to celebrate the solstice long pre-dates the "Christmas tree.")

Mind you, I've never bought one before, because the idea of putting up a tree meant to celebrate a holiday that I don't celebrate is just plain silly, if you ask me.

I will not buy a cut tree, because there are few things more depressing than cutting down a perfectly viable tree and then watching it slowly die over the course of the next month or so.

Buying a living tree is a much more appealing prospect, but I have nowhere to plant it after the holiday.

So, if I decide to get a tree, it'll be artificial.

Why am I considering such a thing in the first place? Well, I have a cat, and I bet he'd get a kick out of it. When I was a kid, I think our cats liked Christmas at least as much as we kids did, because they got to play in the tree (not that my parents thought that was such a good thing, admittedly).

So, I'm thinking of getting a good, stout tree, one that the cat can climb in; I'm guessing he'll get a kick out of it. Of course, if I do decide to get a tree, I'll put some lights on it [no tinsel though (choking hazard) and no ornaments (they'd probably just get broken by the cat anyway)], as I do have somewhat nostalgic memories of colorfully-lighted Christmas trees.

Might want to secure it, somehow, lest I wake up to a loud "crash" late one night and find the tree lying on the floor and a cat who's trying to play innocent.

If you can make space for it in a decent pot during the ...um... solstice season - you can keep it there! With different decorations for different seasons!

The Man's current avatar seems particularly appropriate for these times:

Not just the expression, either. The first track on that album is painfully on point, particularly the lines: "The fate of all mankind, I fear/Is in the hands of fools."

Yes, I'm a fucking nerd. These days, I'm an angry, depressed nerd, and now this song is earworming me.
