Hey, thanks, but what I meant was I just got a job. To be honest, my first real job. I plan to save my money. For something. What I save it for I don't know yet. Until the time that I do know what it is I am saving for, I save!

Drug test comes soon. I will devour many poppy seeds.

I begin my first year of college August 21st. I may go for weeks without being here when I'm in, as I plan to make straight A's, and when it's time to transfer two years from now, I will have a perfect GPA, this I am determined to accomplish. I don't really know what to expect. I'll be managing a job and classes, so we'll see. Probably not that bad, but I'm bracing for the worst and hoping for the best [even though I love a challenge].

I'll also be finishing my final weeks of preparation for a Marathon I am running around the time I start college. More on this later, it is late, and I need shut eye.

Did it hurt, JoeP? My dentist told me that mine have to be removed as well, sooner or later ...

I look like a giant hamster with a giant sunflower seed in my cheek.

The dental surgeon says you normally do this under general anaesthetic but since my slightly-odd medical insurance doesn't cover that, and it would be 5 times the cost of the surgery just for 6 hours in theatre and ward, and also since I'd never heard of that before (is it a standard practice?), I put up with about 40 minutes of mouth open aaah.

The extraction itself wasn't painful, but I have no problem with the injections in the gums - some people might, and no problem with the drilling and splitting of the tooth (the impacted one needed splitting to get out). And no problem with him cutting away some jawbone to get the roots out, mainly because I didn't realise that was what he was doing (although he'd explained it all in the initial consultation).

His parting words were "take the painkillers before the anaesthetic wears off".

Other people say the second day - which would be today - is the worst. If so, by tomorrow I should be OK, but I wouldn't try to work today.

I'm sticking to soft food, and have antiseptic-antibiotic-analgesic mouthwash, painkillers and antibiotics for about a week. Oh and an icepack for a bit. I needed to get up in the night and take more painkillers.
