What does the bone cost mean? Special invader drops? I couldn't get to the gate fast enough to catch anything more than a collossal game stutter.

In case you're missing it.

Once every 30 minutes there are a number of portals opening. With the portals come standard looking mobs - zombies and hulks. You fight them for five minutes and then the portals close. During the fight loot drops are just the savage enchantments and bones, not lucky bones but Bones of Valindra's minions. These bones are the currency for the items shown above. The enchantments are common enough that I have a few that'll be useful for a little while. By which I mean probably a night of adventuring with you two. The bones however are a little more scarce. I'm hoping I can collect enough to buy the skellidog.

I was right about the mob coding. There is no set level, damage to and from is relative to your level. I'm 34 fighting along side both higher and lower levels that are contributing. I think they've learned quite a bit in the years (PS and Cryptic) from previous iterations of these kinds of events. One lesson is that timing is relevant. The portals are open for five minutes with a 25 minute rest between events. Unlike previous events I'm used to from CoH which just went on and on and on and on. I think timing it this way, and spreading it out through the zone, is reduce the amount of lag induced by a lot of people fighting a lot of mobs in one small area. I'm hoping they'll figure out the massive spike at the end when the portals self destruct and despawn, but that's my only complaint thus far. Lastly, their event vendor is in a specific place that they've designated as the place for special event vendors.

For a very first event from a brand new MMO game, this is very nice.

He prefers MLT, mutton lettuce and tomato - where the mutton is nice and lean and the tomatoes are ripe and so perky. Yeah, he loves that.

Also he doesn't have room for an MLT, the chocolate coating that makes the pill go down easier probably filled him up.

It would be cool if you could have multiple companions active, at least when soloing. Then you could have a pack of skeledogs.

I was having some patching/server connection issue so I've just disabled on demand patching. Now in addition to whatever today's special patch is, I'm p much downloading the rest of the game as well.
