Now I have an extra Steam key for Waking Mars, The Stanley Parable, and Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP if someone is interested.

I am tentatively excited for Mass Effect:Andromeda. I'd be super excited if I hadn't been burned by just about every new release I've bought the past couple of years. Still, it looks good.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Same here, curses. A TON of combat mechanics clunkiness remained in the original trilogy, even in ME3. The increased mobility shown in the gameplay vids is really encouraging. It also looks as though you can switch classes at any time, such as starting a mission as a soldier and switching to an engineer of you run into a bunch of shielded enemies. And the new ability animations have me all aflutter, especially the overload and biotic charge animations. I saw one gameplay clip where the player picked up an enemy (presumably with pull or some related biotic ability), carried the enemy a little ways, then threw the fucker at another group of enemies, resulting in a massive explosion.
I'm about this close to surrendering to the hype completely. The only thing standing between me an unconditional surrender is thinking about shit like the Halo 5 single player campaign.

Every little bit I see of the game makes me feel a little bit better. But I remember being excited as fuck for Skyrim, everything looked amazing...and then the bugs. Oh god the bugs.

The new Zelda.
I dunno if it's the best Zelda, as some reviewers think, but it is pretty great.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
Still grinding Summoner's War.
Recently built a fairly successful Dragons B10 dungeon team and and finishing Giants B10 in about 2:30, not the fastest time but fairly decent. Have finished Trial Of Ascension normal mode a couple months running now. Upper level floors in Hard mode TOA still has me stymied but getting into the 50s or 60s -- I am 6-starring mons now just to address the synergy of particular TOA floors.
Also started an account for my daughter, who plays it when she's here and i play it the rest of the time. We've made some good progress, she has Giants B10 team that is running about 95% success rate and the monsters for Dragons B10, but not the runes. Getting there though.
But Clash of Clans. Recently rearranged all my buildings and walls to spell out " Free Stuff." and " I Quit."
Think I'm all fucking done with that one...

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I just finished the Tomb Raider. The first of the reboot one. I consider myself a fan of the series even if I never played all of them. I only finished most of The Last Revelation and I gave up on Angel of Darkness. So much a fan that I took valuable fambly time away from a reunion to see the first movie. My very favorite release is Tomb Raider 2.
I only mostly liked Tomb Raider 2013. There weren't very many diabolical puzzles. Most of them were locked room types. What wasn't so much fun was all the murdering one had to do. A. Lot. Of. Murder. But even that paled in comparison to the heinous quick time events. At least for PC controls.
It was fun for the most part, a fair first installment. We'll have to see if they can imprrove the experience.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I got Horizon Zero Dawn instead of Mass Effect. I think that was the right decision. The story is compelling, like Witcher 3 compelling. It's a beautiful world, it's open world, and I have yet to be overly irritated by any character. Dialogue choices are simple, you can be kind, clever, or aggressive, and each one has its place in your interactions.
Tallnecks are my new favorite thing.

I don't know how it happen but I got myself on a Tomb Raider kick. If you're looking for more Tomb puzzles, Lara Croft Go (.99 on mobile) is chock full of them. With some shame, I admit I did have to cheat on a few of them. Even still, it was super enjoyable.

I loved the first Tomb Raider on PS1. And then I never got another one, I don't know why.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
I've been playing Shantae: Half Genie Hero. The game is a lot of fun. While it isn't perfect, I don't regret my purchase in the slightest. The action platforming elements can be somewhat frustrating at times in certain stages, but overall, the game is a blast.
I also happen to like the graphics. While they don't compare at all to Triple A titles, they do look pleasant and animate nicely. Seriously, the development team at Wayforward Technologies (the minds behind the series) deserve to pat themselves on the back on a job well done.

American II or Japanese II? I found the actual FFII unplayable, but US FFII (really IV), the one with Cecil etc., to be really good fun.

Re: Video Games - Watcha playin'?
This week I finished "The Last of Us" and the expansion story "Left Behind". Yes, I'm woefully behind on video games. I'm also lame and played through on the easiest level.
I did really enjoy the game, even though I kinda knew how the story would go. It's not really the plot, but how well the story was told.
Just put in "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" to play next. The previous Deus Ex had good points and really shitty points. (It took me forever to get past the first boss because you had to kill them, and I was all stealth and hacker skills - I had to back up a few saves and change some skills.) But the story was at least interesting, and it was stylish AF.
I'm hoping they improved on the new game.
