Re: Only in Oklahoma...
First measles case in Oklahoma since 1997 has been reported in Stillwater. Thanks, Obama antivaxxers.
I got my measles immunity the old fashioned way, by having the measles.

Oh noes, the EF-2 tornado destroyed bald eagle nests and eggs in the trees along the Arkansas River below Keystone Dam.

Such a wasted opportunity to use this.

Both get stabby with each other with broken bottles they had been drinking from.
Tulsa PD had no comment on which phone is better.

WalletHub.com rates Tulsa as #2 nationally to start a business. The website ranks 150 cities on factors such as access to resources and business environment, ranked Shreveport, Louisiana, at the top of the list, Tulsa #2. I'm telling you, Tulsa is where it's at.

This picture allegedly shows how the monsoon rains in Oklahoma have caused this storm shelter to break free from its bonds and float away.

On a more serious note, an Oklahoma City woman drowned, trapped in her water-filled storm cellar, the only fatality of the storms yesterday.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Tornado shelters (aka storm cellars, hidey-holes, fraidy-holes) rising up out of the ground because of saturated soils is happening all over Oklahoma, even shelters installed in garage floors.
Perhaps a storm porch would be better. This seems like a great choice for the trailerhouse owner.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
What do you call it when you have tornadoes, intoxicated canoers, and a woman killing her husband with a car to end an argument? Here in Oklahoma we call it Saturday night.

This Billionaire Tried To Get University Scientists Fired For Doing Their Job | ThinkProgress
Quote:
Despite a growing body of scientific research connecting oil and gas activity to a dramatic spike in earthquakes across several U.S. states, some industry leaders are fighting this characterization. Harold Hamm, billionaire CEO of Oklahoma City-based Continental Resources, told a dean at the University of Oklahoma last year that he was so displeased by the university’s research on the topic that he wanted certain scientists dismissed, Bloomberg News reported.

Because it is stupid to think that breaking apart geological formations might produce anything like a fault that would cause earthquakes.

I can't wait for the lobbyist shill to go on Fox news and explain how earthquakes are actually good for the land, invigorating it or something. Cause the one nice thing about this is there's no way you can hide quakes.

Oklahoma has one of the lowest rates of children living in a two parent household, only 39%. It also has a p. high rate of children under 18 living with grandparents.

Re: Only in Oklahoma...
Saturday July 4, a man wearing a gun and a bulletproof vest walked into the Bristow, Oklahoma Walmart, said he was an armored truck driver, walked out with $75,000 in cash. Employees didn't realize they had been duped until the real Loomis truck showed up 30 minutes later. Today, four days later, the manager of the Walmart and his step-daughter were arrested in connection with this case. Detectives say the step-daughter was the get-away driver, and her step-father, the store manager, was on duty in the store at the time. The fake armored truck driver is still at large.
A picture of what a fake armored truck driver might look like:
