Well, rather than IVF sympathy, we got a bit of grief for the move. The first words out of his grandma's mouth were "Why are you moving so far away from this family?". LOL...explaining our thought processes and choice did take up a lot of time

We just threw some old sleeping bags in the back and they slept most of the time (we drove overnight both ways). They were a bit stressed on the way out...ya know how stressed dogs shed and stink? Yeah, that was fun. They were pretty good in the garage at the cousin's house, though unhappy and confused that they couldn't come in. They were much better on the way home. They are very happy to be back in their own house and snuggled extra close in bed last night.
