Welp, tomorrow. Tomorrow is when it starts. Tomorrow, Sunday May 20, 2017 is when the third season of Twin Peaks airs.

Despite my current embarrassment of streaming channels, I'm signing up for Showtime for the duration of the new Twin Peaks season.

Which starts tomorrow.

I hope it doesn't suck!

We've been having some technical difficulties, so I didn't get to see Sunday night's episode until last night, and I've got to say it's a pretty good thing none of you guys are watching, because it is much too hardcore for any of you people.

Wait. Is the old series or a new series?

:unnod:

The original first two seasons are circa ~1990. There was a feature length movie some time later. And now there's a continuation od the series on Showtime.

YES! Limoncello! Watch Twin Peaks with me!

Also, I get to tell you how it happened!

So if you saw the original series, there was this scene right toward the end:

And then, they really did it. David Lynch and Mark Frost announced that it was coming back after 25 years! It was delayed a year because of some creative (budget) issues, so it ended up being more like 26.

And in between, there was the prequel, Fire Walk with Me.

Anyway, it's on Showtime, so I got an al a carte subscription that I'll cancel after the show is finished, and it was really, really good up until the last episode, after which it became so fantastic that it actually made the previous already good stuff even better.

I remember it from way back when, Laura Palmer, a beautiful oriental woman from a Mill? and a dancing dwarf maybe?

Laura Palmer is white. The little person talks backwards. In dreams. It's... unique.

Yes, that's it.

Josie Packard is the Asian woman from the mill, played by Joan Chen. She and the dancing guy are not back in the new series, though, for different reasons.

The original series is on I think almost all the major streaming services--Hulu, Amazon, and Netflix--if anyone wants to catch up.

I've been trying not to nag people about it, but this latest episode was so good that my face fell off.

I don't remember if I ever finished Season 2. I think I got as far as that one really challenging episode and then took a break and then never got back into it.

Is there a really good Seasons 1&2 recap video, for Johnnys-come-lately who just want to jump into the new season?

How did I miss this? I must be stupid or something. This is the most important thread, and I missed a post!

I just watched this recap, and it goes over the main things you need to know. Although, I'd watch the end of season 2, probably. It does recover from the slump, I think, and at least the last episode is pretty important.

(He blah blah blahs for a few minutes, like 3 or so, so if you're super busy and impatient, you can skip over the intro stuff.)

Ugh, god. So nobody else, huh?

I did at least get Mabel hooked, so she's been coming over to watch it with me, but I have formed some theories and now I just have to sit on them until she comes back.

UGH. GOD. YOU PEOPLE. YOU FUCKING PEOPLE.

This season was the best of the entire series. You are all ridiculous monsters, and that includes Matlock, who also would not watch it with me.
