Re: First World Problems
I have an app telling me I should clean my "baseboards".
Please, sir, what are baseboards?

Then your app is faulty! It's probably a sneaky marketing scheme!

Re: First World Problems
I just joined a pilot program at work to ride the CalTrain instead of the work shuttle. They gave me a golden ticket that lets me ride the train all I want, 24/7, to all zones, for business or pleasure, thru the end of the year. The total commute time is significantly shorter, compared to the shuttle, and the stop is closer to my house.
The problem? NO WIFI

Re: First World Problems
Baseboards are those things that are between the base of the wall and the floor. They get dusty. Obviously super super important.

Re: First World Problems
Ah, skirting boards. That name makes infinitely more sense.
But no, I will not clean them at this time; not only are there, like, miles of them, they are beneath me. Floor level-low-beneath. 40 YEARS OF LIFE HAS NOT PREPARED ME FOR THIS SORT OF A TASK.

Skirting makes more sense than base? Hmmm. Okay.

It makes no sense! Walls can't wear skirts! They do have bases. You know, like at the bottom?

Skirting board hang about around the levels of my skirt hems.
Yes, I wear long skirts if I wear any, for the sake of everyone. Can't talk about it, bad PTSD*.

Re: First World Problems
I was at Halloween Express when I realized that I would make a thoroughly awesome Pinhead. I can do the voice, the walk, etc. p. well, and I'm tall enough to pull it off. Plus I'm no longer fat, so my profile would be pretty spot on as well.
Then I realized that there's no way in the exquisite sufferings of Hell that I would pay the 50 bucks for a Pinhead mask (nor would I take the 8 hours or so to do a homemade application to my head and face, which would require a skin wig thingie anyway), let alone spring for the rest of the damned outfit.
Sadly, it's not Time To Play. :sadpinhead:

Re: First World Problems
The City vs United match starts at 7:00am on the first day of my vacation. So I have to set my alarm just to watch it live, over satellite, in the comfort of my own home. No fair!

Re: First World Problems
Because I live in a theocracy the shops will be CLOSED tomorrow for All Saint's Day. This means that I have had to imagine what I might want to eat tomorrow, ahead of time, when I am not in that situation and therefore have no idea what I will want.
I feel like an old-timey farmer's wife, looking trough the shelves of jars, wondering if we will make it through the winter.
