Re: Seen Any Good Movies...?
My wife rented Last Holiday. I guess I was in a mood to tolerate it, because it was a bit of really dumb fun. MASSIVE cliches, one-dimensional characters, more unbelievable coincidences than I bothered to count, and an ending you could predict from outside the Earth's orbit, but ... well, you get the point. It's as if the screenwriters said to themselves, "Look, we really like these characters and we're going to make things work out for them, so if you want something bleak, go rent Sid & Nancy." If you accept that from the outset, you might enjoy it. Alcohol would probably help.

How about the fact that I'd shag Jude Law like there's no tomorrow? Would that help?

CLOVERFIELD
One of my favorite movies ever. Just don't sit up front if you're prone to motion sickness.

Shoot 'Em Up - I want my $2.79 and 1-1/2 hours back. Although, almost seeing Monica Bellucci's naked breastes was almost worth it.

Meet the Spartans
Alcohol did not help. The only reason it wasn't a total waste was that it had Kevin Sorbo in a major role. I think I was the only person in the theater old enough to care.

I was tempted for 0.00000001 seconds to see that after watching the trailer, just to see the gay-guy-in-denial get pushed into the pit of doom.

Re: Seen Any Good Movies...?
The homosexual underovertones were plenty, but they were too homophobic to be truly interesting.
Edit: Not that I'm being judged, but I had a voucher for a free movie and it was the only thing starting at the correct time.

I experienced the same disappointment with Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle. After the 20th time some ditzy highschool blonde (literally, just trying to be accurate here...) giggled, "Ohmygod, they think he's gay!" I became severely annoyed.

Re: Seen Any Good Movies...?
Is it homophobic to think it's funny in Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle that the guy fondling the naked bewbs while hanging half out of the car's sunroof actually is gay?

Maybe I should give it another try, now that Doogie's letting it all hang out.

OMG, my two boys and I went to see this movie this past weekend. Part of the reason for my staying home from work yesterday...
STILL trying to sleep off that hangover that movie induced!

Ol' Doogie's pretty good at playing the womanizer, isn't he? Better than Rock Hudson.

It should have been obvious to me. Anytime I'm ridiculously attracted to a nerd he ends up gay.

Re: Seen Any Good Movies...?
As posted in another thread:
I watched The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Bob Ford this afternoon. There are some scenes reserved just for watching grass grow and still others waiting for paint to dry.
On the plus side, I got a good nap in without missing anything important in the movie.

Re: Seen Any Good Movies...?
I am purposely boycotting Meet the Spartans. Sadly, not because it's a bad movie rather because the LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE!!!11!ELEVENTYHONDA twit gets more than his 1/2 second of fame in it (even if it's mocking him).
