Default Lady in the Water

M. Night Shamalyan's latest film effort, Lady in the Water, is like walking in on your roommate masturbating... to pictures of himself, according to the linked review. Oh, boy, do I look forward to that. Not. It opens this coming Friday at a theater near you. It comes to video a week or so after that. Just kidding.

Shamalyan seems to be suffering from George Lucas syndrome. The thought that his 'talent' is the reason for his success.

These creatures are called “scrunts,” which I believe is a word I once heard in a completely different context on The Howard Stern Show.
I'm pretty sure that was "scrump." If you don't know, don't ask. :bleh:

I dunno, sure it sounds bad, but this sounds like the usual poisonous review that I suspect many film critics have half-finished before they even see the film they're reviewing. Besides, The Village wasn't a masterpiece, but I didn't think it was "stupid." The review could be 100% spot-on, but I never trust this sort of I'm-so-clever smackfest that film critics seem to live for. Unless I've written it, of course.

Rotten Tomatoes rating: 18%, Cream of the Crop: 0%. Sounds like major suckage.

From the previous I thought it looked interesting, but then I have never seen Signs or The Village. I probably won't see this one either.

I watched Unbreakable the other night. I have no idea why because seriously, nothing at all happens in that movie. Nothing.

If I ever see Lady in the Water it'll probably be under the same idle channel-surfing circumstances.

David Letterman said it was about a woman trapped in a backyard swimming pool because the dog won't let her get out.

Let me take this bumped thread moment to correct my spelling of the producer-director-actor's name: It's Shyamalan.
