After being detained at NYPD’s 30th Precinct for a few hours, Brock was released without charges. When she asked for her car, officers told her to return the next day to claim it at a substation. Instead of giving Brock her car back the following day, NYPD cops refused to believe that she owned a BMW and placed her in handcuffs before calling for an ambulance.
“Next thing you know, the police held onto me, the doctor stuck me with a needle and I was knocked out,” Brock told NY Daily News. “I woke up to them taking off my underwear and then went out again. I woke up the next day in a hospital robe.”
Brock woke up inside the Harlem Hospital psychiatric ward. For eight days, doctors and medical staff repeatedly injected Brock with sedatives and forced her to take lorazepam and lithium after misdiagnosing her as bipolar and delusional. According to medical records, doctors also repeatedly attempted to coerce her into denying she owned a BMW, was a banker, and has President Barack Obama as a follower on Twitter.
On top of all the other obvious problems, that's just plain too many cops. NINE cops were available to respond to this? NINE? Taxpayers paid for NINE cops to come out to address this situation?
Even a huge unrepentant chickenshit racist who honestly believes that black kids need to be terrorized might, I suspect, take issue with paying for responses like this.
cops-brutally-beat-police-misconduct-investigator-after-turning-off-dash-cam
But it's not like officers will turn on and off the cameras, using them to their advantage or anything, because they are honorable... wait, what, you mean that's the first thing every department that gets cameras does is end up with missing footage, hmm that's strange.
Oh and take a guess what color the beaten misconduct investigator is, just take a random guess.
Has this behavior been hidden in the old-boys club for 30 years and only coming out now due to ubiquitous cameras and the increasing difficulty of quenching all evidence? This is way too much violence, racism, and cronyism to just appear overnight. With them beating up investigators it's getting hard to tell them apart from organized crime.
If you're a cop I basically assume you're a horrible violent person until shown otherwise.
The FBI director recently admitted Cops fear cameras, it's pretty clear why.
Next time someone tells you being a cop is dangerous, remind them that every year twice as many cops are fired for rape than are shot and killed. Half of those killed in the line of duty are from traffic accidents. Being *around* a cop appears way more dangerous than being one.
I kind of wonder if we stopped blowing smoke up cops' asses all the time the profession wouldn't be quite the magnet for violent beaknecks that it is right now.
You know, calling them 'heroes' and telling them they have the most dangerous job (which, yeah, I had a more dangerous job than that when I was a teenager), and they believe it. They believe that they're stepping into some kind of war zone, and because they're the ones with the weapons, it's a self-fulfilling prophesy. And rape is one of the spoils of war pretty much always.
It's pretty baked in, though. Police are domestic armies, and people are the enemy.
SFPD executes man on street.
Executes is the perfect term for it, as a bunch of cops all lined up at a safe distance, drew their weapons and fired in time. For what reason, well thanks to random citizens (because SFPD are whiny children who complain being watched on the job makes them uncomfortable), we know it was because the SFPD was done with the situation and murder was the easiest laziest solution, so of course with no court of law they executed him. His crime was holding a knife, being a suspect in a stabbing, and was black. Killing by S.F. police sets off public debate - SFGate
“They had six officers against this one little guy,” he said. “They could have used batons. They could have backed off. They didn’t need to shoot him.”
They could have used a fucking broomstick. Risking their lives my ass.
*but the differences are hugely significant: the SF guy was known to police as a gang member with a criminal record who matched the description of a suspect who had stabbed someone with a kitchen knife a while earlier, the London cops were attending a murderous, possibly terrorist, attack actually in progress on the tube. London is on high alert because of expected terorist attacks after Paris , SF not so much.

Next time some probably white person whines about focusing on race because cops are killing everyone, omg don't make this a race issue, feel free to send them this,
Then remind them that these cops are still on the force, and when they ask what back water tiny racist southern town they come from, tell them, the liberal bastion of San Francisco. Those Hate-Texting Police Officers Just Get Off Scot-Free: SFist
(This is a separate set of officers from those that were caught violently shaking down poor black residents while on the job.)
I don't like the idea of cops using dogs for apprehension in the first place. They go rogue all the time, and once you've trained the bite inhibition out of a dog, you've made it a permanent danger.
There was some asshole K-9 unit across the street from our house a while back, and the dog was in the SUV just going straight batshit, barking and snarling at everyone, like it wanted out to just rampage.
I guess it could be worse, and that incompetent cop could have instead been a violent, psychopathic cop.
Again with the dogs. This is just... bad, really bad. I never watch these videos. The write ups are always enough to convince me I really don't want to see the videos.

That's not even a heat of the moment decision. They had plenty of time to decide to let the innocent man go but instead they detain him and unleash a dog for literally no reason whatsoever. They knew he was the wrong man and they held him. That alone is terrible enough. But then, for no good reason, they had a dog still on the way and they continued to hold the innocent man. Then after fucking around some more when the dog got there, they still held the man. Then they let the dog loose for no reason. There was no reason for that dog to be loosed on that vehicle.
And if all of that wasn't just the worst fucking bullshit, they not only got away with it the didn't even compensate the family for their pain and suffering.
