Re: First World Problems
I have screwed up everything today.
I got my son a burrito from our favorite taqueria, thinking it would be a nice surprise, but it was full of unadvertised onions, which was a mean surprise for him.
Then I went to give ZZ her weekly shot, but she darted and I ended up squirting it on her back, so I ruined a dose of Adequan and hurt her feelings. And now I have to redo it tomorrow.

This is my Amex, I love the card it’s metal and has good heft. Apparently that’s achieved by gluing plastic to metal and now thats separating

Re: First World Problems
That reminds me I need to work on modifying my wallet. I got a new debit card that includes ‘tap’ ability and while handy in some ways, it’s horrible in others, like maybe I don’t want my card to send info to any reader less than a foot away! It’s also now messing up using my transit card through my wallet as the dumb bank card causes interference.

That's really weird, bey. Post a picture of the front so I can advise you better on repairs.

I am on my THIRD "metal" card that is doing this exact delamination thing. It is not from physical use or even heat from being in my pocket all the time, because this current one has just been sitting my wallet at home for the past 18 months. So this is a credit card that I cannot just cut into pieces and have to mail back (IN THE MAIL) every time it has to be replaced, which is like every year.

Re: First World Problems
found this in my FB wandering, today.
"So tomorrow morning I will continue my hunt for the elusive remote control for the ceiling fan in my bedroom. I suddenly realized the damn thing is set for winter and not sending the cool air _down_. I had thought it would have a switch on the base like a nice normal ceiling fan... but noooo."

Yup. Travel cards - dedicated or regular payment cards where supported - have to be kept separate.
Or removed from the holder every time to tap in / out.
THIS CANNOT BE TOLERATED.

I'm going to make sauerkraut, but that is still too many cabbages to have.

That still feels like kind of a second or third world problem. Unless you're in like the 19th century.

This is a thread for first world problems, I think you might be looking for the thread about eastern bloc problems.
It's full of stuff like too many cabbages and not enough meat, the difficulty of maintaining friendships with the people you wait in line with, the politburo am I right etc

I freezer burned one cabbage by putting it on the top shelf of the fridge, so problem 20% solved.

Re: First World Problems
When dealing with multiple cabbages, you should make use of Cole's law, which states that excess raw cabbage must be finely shredded, and covered in salad dressing.

I have the same thing happening to one of mine. I think they'll send a new one if you ask...I have heard that there are occasional shortages of the metal cards...so you know you're going to sound like a real first world problemer when you say you only want a new one if they can make sure it's the metal one.

Re: First World Problems
On September 25th, we are having family over to celebrate August and September birthdays.
Also on the 25th, the Flop House is doing a live streaming show, which I have tickets for.
AND, Elvira is live-streaming a 40th anniversary special on Shudder.
I can only attend one live. It's probably going to be the one which I can't just watch after it's done.
