Soooo I got it stripped off and sanded and Brasso'd. It looks pretty rocking like this.

Sorry for the blur.

I am tempted to leave it, but there are some blemishes that I can't sand or polish out. The camera didn't pick them up very well in that shot. So I still plan to prime and paint by the weekend.

I'm currently planning to do three coats of Rustoleum primer, several coats of spray paint, and a layer of clear acrylic.

Don't do red, though. Do like a pearly off-white.

Pearly off-white? Bitch please. This is not some pimp stapler.

ETA: Ok, maybe it is a little. I'm planning on some leather shoes for the new rubber feet.

That's just lazy. Stick with brushed steel! You can do it!

Or chrome plate it. That would be cool. ... It looks like some chromium trioxide, sulphuric acid, and a few hundred amps of current should do it.

It's gone from "This old stapler" to "pimp my stapler" and it isn't even on page three.

I say paste some jewels on it, give it some spinning rims and call it a day.

Geezusgod Chuck is taking this lowly stapler to an art form..show some respect people!!

Now never mind those blemishes...melt some gold on them and hammer it in and polish it up. The randomness of the gold blotches will make it uber cool in the eyes of the art world. Slap a copper bottom on it. You've got a stapler every rich executive should be ashamed not to have as a trophy piece on their desk. Get them reproduce in some foreign country for $19.99 and sell um for $250.00. Wave at us from your yacht with the tropical sun glinting off your expensive sunglasses.

:giggle: Let me go take the battery out of the car!

I have one more coat of house paint (I don't like where this is going, btw; it started out as just the downstairs, but I just finished the stairwell going up) before I switch to the stapler project for the afternoon. I think it needs a bath in denatured alcohol to get good and de-greased, since I can't get in some of the nooks and crannies.

And just to justify my decision to paint it red: Swingline didn't make a red stapler until after Office Space. I plan to make a vintage one red and hawt. Anyway, if I don't like it, I'll just strip the paint off again and sandblast it to a nice steel finish.

How come I have an ancient red swingline then.
Huh? Smarty pants. Huh?
Great gord, do you believe everything you read on the internets?

Just for that, when I get home, I'm taking pictures.

HAH!
Mine kind of looks like that, only cheaper.

Do I win a pimped up stapler now?
That would rock, because Chunkmediocrites keeps hiding mine. You know how hard it is to get a kid dressed in the morning without a stapler?

That red one needs some fins.

Taped and ready to prime after a nice alcohol bath:

Primed:

Tonight it will be ready to sand, and maybe tomorrow I'll put a first coat of paint on if it doesn't need another coat of primer.
